HOW TO ENTER

The two most important things to do when entering a creative contest are:
1. Read and follow all of the rules very carefully to avoid disqualification.
2. Wow the judges with a well executed, outside-the-box, creative entry.

For The Great Gown Giveaway, you’ll want to add one more step, which is to visit the participating bridal shops, because in this contest you get to enter to win from the specific shop(s) where you know there are gowns calling your name! The participating bridal shops are:

Some favorite techniques for winning creative contests include writing poems (rhyming, acrostic, limericks, etc.), using humor, and being artistic. Since this contest requires you to include one image, that opens up a whole world of possibilities. You might write a clever mini one act play, and then take a photo of the two of you as the actors. Or you might design your entry as a scrapbook page and take a photo of that. Just as you’ll be designing your wedding as a reflection of you as a couple, do the same here, and show us what makes you a uniquely perfect pair.

OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this contest. A purchase will not improve chances of winning. By entering this Contest, entrants accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Any violation of these rules may, at Sponsor’s discretion, result in disqualification. All decisions of the judges regarding this Contest are final and binding in all respects.

CONTEST PERIOD. Contest begins on 11/22/11 and ends on 3/20/12. All entries must be received by Sponsor no later than the end date.

HOW TO ENTER. In 100 words or less, tell us “why you and your fiancé are the perfect couple”. To qualify, your entry must include ALL of the following:

  • Your name, age, address, phone, email, and wedding date.
  • Your 100 words or less of why you are the perfect couple.
  • One image (*more details below).
  • Which bridal shop(s) you are entering to win the First Place Prize for (you can choose one or more – only choose the shops at which you’d want to win a gown, because the prize is non-transferrable) The choices are:

Submit your entry either by email to: EngagedSacramento@pwg.com, or by mail to: PWG’s Great Gown Giveaway, 2201 Francisco Dr., #140-433, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762. Entries must be received no later than 3/20/12.

*More about the “image” part of your entry. The one image you submit may be separate from the written entry, as in a photo of you two being the perfect couple; or it may be the entry itself, as in you’ve taken a photo of your wildly creative entry. There are some example ideas at the top of this page. Be creative, but only submit one still image (no video), and if submitting by email, the image should be no larger than 3MB.

Entrant represents and warrants that their submission is the original work of such entrant, it has not been copied from others, and it does not violate the rights of any other person or entity. Entrant further represents and warrants that their submission adheres to the fundamental spirit of the Contest and does not contain any defamatory, obscene or otherwise unlawful matter or depict anyone engaged in any illegal, immoral or lewd act, any violent or pornographic material or contain any other inappropriate content such as illegal drug use, nudity or hate speech. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. One entry per person.

PRIZES. One First Place Prize Certificate will be awarded for each of the bridal shops listed below, for a total of five First Place Prizes. Each First Place Prize Certificate is for one wedding gown of the winner’s choice, with a maximum retail value of $1000. The winner may choose a gown with a higher retail value, and apply the $1000 towards the total. No cash or other merchandise will be awarded for any amount of the certificate left over if the chosen gown has a retail value of less than $1000. Prize Certificates may only be redeemed at the specified bridal shop, and must be redeemed no later than 12/31/12. The winner for each bridal shop will be selected from the qualified submissions that entered for that specific shop.

All federal, state and/or local income and other taxes, if any, are the winner’s sole responsibility. Prizes are not transferable nor redeemable for cash. Any portion of a prize that is not used is forfeited.

WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION. Prize winners will be determined by the Sponsor’s judging panel based on the following criteria: Creativity, Originality, and Relevance to the Theme. The winner for each First Prize will be selected from the qualified submissions that entered only for that specific bridal shop. Decision of the judges is final. Winners will be notified by email on or near 3/27/12, and must respond to indicate acceptance of their prize within 10 days. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within 10 days, that winner forfeits all rights to any prize, and an alternate winner will be selected. Official prize certificates will be sent by U.S. Postal Service to finalized winners. It will be the responsibility of each prize winner to redeem their prize certificate before the expiration date of 12/31/12.

CONSENT AND RELEASE. By entering the Contest, each entrant releases and discharges the Sponsor and any other party associated with the development or administration of this Contest, their parent, subsidiary, and affiliated entities, and each of their respective officers, directors, members, shareholders, employees, independent contractors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, “Sponsor Entities”), from any and all liability whatsoever in connection with this Contest, including without limitation legal claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages, demands or actions of any kind (including without limitation personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction or property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light) (collectively, “Claims”). Entry into the contest constitutes permission to use the name, likeness, pictures and entry of the participants for promotional purposes by the Sponsor without compensation. Entry into the Contest constitutes permission for the Sponsor to share entrants provided information with wedding professionals and their affiliates. Entrants may opt out of information sharing as set forth in the privacy policy at perfectweddingguide.com/privacy.

DISCLAIMERS. Sponsor is not responsible for entries that are lost, late, misdirected, incorrect, illegible, garbled, or incomplete. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the Contest if it is not capable of completion as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, force majeure or technical failures of any sort. Sponsor Entities are not responsible for errors in the administration or fulfillment of this Contest, including without limitation mechanical, human, printing, distribution or production errors. In no event will Sponsor be responsible for awarding more than the number of prizes specified in these rules. Sponsor makes no warranties, expressed or implied, as to the Prizes chosen by the winners, and it is the responsibility of the winners to make sure that prize gowns and/or other prize merchandise is ordered with enough time to be received by the winner’s wedding date. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

ELIGIBILITY. This Contest is only open to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old as of the date of entry. This Contest is void outside the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, and where prohibited.
