The first weekend of our Sample Wedding Dress Sale saw lots of brides-to-be imagining themselves walking down the isle in any number of the beautiful gowns, and some even said “Yes to the Dress”!
The books, magazines, and portfolios on the library shelves were well used during many exciting planning sessions.
And right outside the door, one couple was having some lovely portraits taken as they held their wedding next door at the fabulous Hawk’s Restaurant!

With over 20 different national wedding magazines on the shelf at Engaged Wedding Library, there are new issues arriving frequently. Last week we received new issues of Inside Weddings, Brides, and Islands. We also just added two new books to our huge library of gorgeous wedding books!
The first is Handmade Weddings: More Than 50 Crafts to Personalize Your Big Day, by the talented gals of Hello Lucky. With over 50 step-by-step projects, this guide is a welcome addition to our DIY books, and is hot off the press, only having been available for a few weeks.
The second is Beautiful Wedding Flowers: More than 300 Corsages, Bouquets, and Centerpieces. We’ve added this book in response to many brides looking specifically for centerpiece design ideas!

Complete Bridal Salon owner David Gaffke found one very interesting way to capitalize on Sunday’s historic face-off at Soldier Field, because nothing says “super fan” like a Chicago Bears-inspired wedding gown.
The dress costs $1500 and can be ordered at Complete Bridal Salon in suburban East Dundee. With Sunday’s big Bears-Packers game getting national attention, the gowns have been in serious demand.
“The first Bears gown we made has been on more airplanes to go to more news, sporting events and newspaper shoots than any other single gown in the world, other than Princess Diana’s,” Salon owner David Gaffke said.
These dresses aren’t just for show – some women are purchasing them for their special day. “We’ve had two brides order the Bears dress and one girl order it for prom,” Gaffke said, adding that he can make any sports team gown as long as the customer provides him the team’s patch.
